I pulled out the stuff for doing a beef stir fry.  This morning I took some beef from the freezer and put it in the fridge.  Found out it was the stroganoff cut again.  Chopped up an onion, and put it in a bowl, and a pepper third.  Then I opened a can of crushed pineapple, and a can of bamboo shoots – about a half a can of each in a bowl.

Prior to all this, I put in some sesame oil, crushed a garlic clove, added a little bit of soy sauce, and then just a dab of that pepper paste.  I realized I didn’t need to put any garlic in there – already minced garlic.

Got the oil hot, then added the beef, kept that in there until the beef was cooked, and then started adding things, first the onions and peppers, and then after a little bit, the bamboo and pineapple.

With beef, I can probably cut down a lot on the oil I put in there.  The beef provides enough of its own.  Seeds are hot.  Hot. Very Hot.  Just that little dab made it hot enough I went for some cider after the first bite.  It was good, but it it was hot.  The pineapple made very a nice flavor in there – certainly going to do that again.  I think that water chestnuts work better than bamboo, but thats also my preference.  Crushed pineapples are easier to deal with than chunks, but have more water locked up in there.

In general, I also need to find some more vegetable matter.  Maybe get a rice cooker thats sized well for one person.
